What's Your Color?

What's Your Faletama's Color?
Starting with the 2009 California Reunion, each faletama was given a color to represent all of those family members who are decendants of Saimasina's children, be it Salatielu, Fasi, Salu, Samila, Tinei, Sifou, Alamoni or Kipeni.
Now we have Saimasina's siblings joining us as well as his uncles/aunties. Just recently, Saimasina's mother's siblings (Tagaloa/Su'a) have requested a color they can wear to represent their lineage. We are an inclusive family! We welcome all of our family to join us. But we are facing a bit of a problem. We are running out of colors. So we have come up with a simple solution, to have one color represent the entire generation and their descendants.
For Saimasina's siblings, purple now represents Saimasina's siblings.
For his uncles/aunts, the color Maroon.
For Tiana's line (Tagaloa/Su'a), the color silver.
It's a blessing to have such a large family. We want to be sure everyone is fairly represented
You can even wear just your regular clothes of the same color just to carry the "solidarity" theme forward. It's intended to be fun and easy. You do not have to spend a lot of money.
So here is the list of the faletamas and the color they were assigned.
- Salatielu -- Royal Blue
- Fasi -- Red
- Salu -- Green
- Samila -- Light Blue
- Tinei -- Yellow
- Sifou -- Creamy Beige
- Alamoni -- Hot Pink
- Kipeni -- Orange
- Saimasina's Siblings -- Kiata, Vini, Fagatapu, Malo, Limala'u -- Purple
- Uncles/Aunties -- Maroon
- Tiana's Brothers -- Tagaloa/Su'a -- Silver
- Main 2025 Reunion T-Shirt -- Black
We want to emphasis that this is strictly voluntary. You do not have to do this if you don't want to. But trust me, when you look around the room and see others wearing their family color, it really is fun to know which faletama is which.
