Welcome Back to Sunny Southern California!
Can you believe it? It's been 10 years since we hosted the reunion in 2009. And if you thought that reunion was fun, just wait until you see what we have planned this time around.
Date: The reunion will begin on Thursday, August 1stand close on Saturday, August 3rd. You might consider coming before or after the reunion to do your sightseeing as well as visiting the many amusement parks and attractions that are located in the Southern California area. Don’t forget, Las Vegas is a short five hours away. San Diego is only an hour and a half away. And for those family members who were part of our family dance troupe back in the 1960’s, we might consider organizing a trip to Catalina if there is enough interest. That’s the beauty of Southern California! There is so much to do here!
Make Your Plans NOW: Our family is blessed to be so large. We are anticipating an average attendance of 500 to 600 family members a day. Therefore, we encourage all of you who are planning to attend to get your reunion fees in as soon as possible. Wish we could reserve the Los Angeles Convention Center (capacity: 6000) but I’m sorry to inform you that another organization has already booked those dates. Lol! We are very fortunate instead to have the use of Wilson Park, Torrance Beach and the North Torrance Stake Center. Thank you to the lovely City of Torrance, California for having such great public venues and to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for their generosity.
Up-To-Date Information: We welcome you to peruse our website for all of the latest information regarding the family reunion. The reunion right now is a "work in progress" so please bear with us as we work out all of the logistics.
Family Gallery: We encourage you to add to our family gallery. Everyone enjoys looking at photos, whether they be current or vintage. The photos that are posted right now come from the 2012 website. Needless to say, it needs to be made current.
Genealogy Survey: Please take the time to fill out our genealogy survey. It is our intention to add to the wonderful work that was begun by Auntie Nettie Alapa Hunter. So many more weddings celebrated and babies born as well as the passing of so many of our loved ones. We need your help to keep things accurate and up-to-date.
Registration: Our registration committee has created a wonderful site that provides you with a number of choices. We now have the ability to offer you a choice of either paying your fees in full or over time with our payment plan. Our site is designed to track your payments and send reminders to you of your payment deadline(s). It enables you to reserve your tickets in advance until you have paid everything in full making it so easy and convenient for you to stay on track.
Where To Stay: We are currently scouting around, trying to arrange an excellent group rate at a number of the hotels in the Torrance area. As soon as we have that information, we will be posting it here on our website. Be sure to also check out Airbnb. They have some of the best rates available.
Important Announcement: We are proud to announce that we are now a 501 (c)(3) non profit association.
